Lunch & Linguistics

Wednesdays, 12:30 - 13:30
Department of Linguistics, Meister-Ekkehart-Str. 7, 2nd floor, left.

Lunch & Linguistics is an informal and welcoming space for researchers — ranging from advanced Master's and PhD students to Post-Docs — where you can present work-in-progress research and network with fellow researchers from various linguistic fields. You can use this space to:

  • Receive feedback on your current research
  • Brainstorm new projects
  • Practice a presentation for any upcoming occasion
  • Introduce a new method or tool in linguistic research that others may find useful

In addition to the small audience attending each session, you are welcome to invite other researchers or professors (or ask the organiser to do so) who you believe can provide valuable feedback on your topic. Lunch & Linguistics will take place during the semester on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 13:30 (once or twice a month).

Each session will be structured as follows:

  • Mindful eating and introductions (15 minutes)
  • Presentation (any format is welcome—slides are optional, 15 to 20 minutes)
  • Feedback and discussion (20 to 30 minutes)

It would be great if you could contribute to this event by volunteering to present. It offers not only a great social opportunity but also a chance to broaden our horizons beyond the boundaries of individual institutes.

Please contact Simona Sbranna to arrange a date and be added to the programme.
We look forward to your proposals!
