Profile Dutch Linguistics
What is the field of study about?
Students are introduced to current research questions in Dutch linguistics, e.g. in areas such as
- Variational linguistics of Dutch
- Language contact
- Contrastive linguistics
- Language change and language history of Dutch
The seminars teach linguistic methods and working techniques that enable students to reflect independently on the linguistic structures of Dutch and their functions. In addition, students expand and deepen their oral and written knowledge of Dutch. They acquire the competence to write complex Dutch-language texts relating to the future professional field for academics (level C1-GER).
